Siren

Picture
Siren is a traditional heavy metal band formed in Brandon, Florida, in 1981. Emerging from the vibrant 1980s Tampa Bay metal scene, the band gained international cult status—particularly in Germany—but broke up in 1990 before reuniting decades later.
The Early Years (1981–1990)
Founded by a group of local high schoolers, Siren spent their early days practicing in garages and sheds across Brandon. They quickly became a staple of the underground scene, playing local clubs alongside acts like Savatage and Nasty Savage.
Following early releases like the Iron Coffins cassette (1985), the band signed to a German label, releasing No Place Like Home (1986) and Financial Suicide (1988). Despite their underground success, they disbanded in 1990 due to lack of promotion and lineup changes.
The Triumphant Reunion (2016–Present)
After discovering a surprise cult following in Europe, Siren reunited around 2015, playing the Keep It True Festival in Germany in 2018. Their comeback was documented in "I'm Too Old for This Sh*t! A Heavy Metal Fairy Tale", a 2021 documentary directed by Nathan Mowery and produced by Chris Jericho. Siren have since released new music, including A Mercenary's Fate (2022).
